Directories for church websites

Official directories

Many, if not most denominations / dioceses have directories of their churches on their websites. if you belong to a denomination, make sure your entry in your denominational directory (or diocesan directory if you have a diocesan structure) is up to date and includes your website address.

Local directories

Find out what other local directories there are for your area (for example by doing searches for other prominent local amenities), and take up any free registration options, especially if they allow you to include your web address. (Also, if your church / church office has a telephone, check your online Yellow Pages and Thomson Local entries.) Does your local Churches Together have a web page with a list of local church websites? If so, make sure you're on it!

Other directories

There are a number of web directories of UK church websites, none of which are comprehensive or authoritative. Again, you may care to take up free entry options, especially if they include your website address, as they will raise your profile a bit more.

General

Keep a record of every site you register with, in case you need to re-visit to change any details. A good church website plus the free options available to you should ensure you are 'visible' on the web.
